People is the source for employee information. Legal uses that information for timekeepers and their work. Finance combines billing and payment figures with payroll costs and management inputs.

Maintain employee information in People

Employee names, departments, supervisors, designations and dated hourly rates can be synchronized to linked Legal accounts. Update these records in People so the connected systems use the same source.

Keep work connected to a matter

Time entries and disbursements belong to matters in Legal. That context carries through to work in progress, invoices and collections. Client and matter rate settings remain part of Legal.

Understand the financial view

Finance reads revenue information from Legal and payroll information from People. Management expenses and exchange-rate inputs complete the picture. Missing payroll or a missing account link can make reporting incomplete.

Changes may synchronize in the background. If two systems disagree, check the source record and ask an administrator to investigate before entering a duplicate.
